"I have personally been working with Chuck for well over three years now, and he is a genius at his craft. He will let you
know if a mic is just not fixable due to a broken winding or some other problem. Otherwise, Chuck can get more output and
tone from an almost good mic. He has brought back some from the dead for me, and is very reasonable in his pricing for the
amount of time he spends on them. The element comes back with fresh leads ready to solder on. I literally have owned
thousands of CR/CM mics and have come to respect Chuck for being able to rescue some that otherwise would have been in
the trash.

With Chuck's elements, it brings out the best of our 50's Fender tone modified so you have a super amp and super mic,
perfect combination. Many of my customers swear by them in their first week of trial.

You have the Sonny Jr. promise that Chuck is a straight-up guy to deal with."

Sincerely,
Sonny Jr.

"In the past, there was no information about microphones, their elements and the
qualities that made a "good" mic sound the way it did. The only way to end up
with a good mic was to buy everything that crossed your path until you found one
you liked... a very expensive and time-consuming process. Though there's now
much more information available today, it still boils down to buying a mic and
hoping the element... the heart of the mic... sounds great. The service Chuck
Gurney is providing takes the worry out of the process... from buying an element
from him that is guaranteed to sound good to sending him a weak element for him
to hot rod for you... it doesn't get better than that. All I can say is I wish
this service was available 20 years ago... thanks Chuck."

When my last good Astatic 151 element crapped out, I thought I was out of luck. Good elements had become SO scarce.
Then Mark Hummel told me about Fatbottom Mics ! Chuck at Fatbottom must've cornered the market on KICK-ASS
vintage elements ! I got a vintage Astatic 111 from Fatbottom that has a ton of volume, fat bass response, and plenty of
treble, BUT the right kind of treble: cuts through, but with some warmth, not at all tinny. I had given up on ever finding an
element like this, but... FATBOTTOM'S GOT 'EM !!!!

Thanks one more time Chuck!

Chuck your mic completly ROCKS! I played it last night & it's my new favorite. You have more than satisfied my quest for a
hot mic, and in record time I might add. You understood my desired tone and wrapped it all up in one hot mic. My T3 by
FatBottom mics is one of the coolest mics I own now! A wicked brush element inside & sounds killer! Superb tone, output
and craftsmanship! It's as hot as two others I own which include a JT-30 ceramic & a biscuit mic with a CR, but Chuck yours
is hot & I'll be using it often for sure!

"I recently had a Shure 520 harp mic handed down to me. This particular mic is special because it was used on many, many
occasions by the one and only
Big Walter Horton! It sounded really good but I decided it needed some work mostly because
it was still "hard wired" with a very long cord and had no volume control.
I wanted the very best harp mic technician I could find to work on this sentimental piece of history. I searched the web and
came upon Chuck Gurneys site: "Fat Bottom Mics". I was really impressed with what I saw and also noticed that Chuck had
been working on mics for Sonny Jr. who built a beautiful 4x10 harp amp for me. I knew I had found the right guy.
I contacted Chuck and sent the mic out to him. He passionately upgraded the mic for me using only the best, high quality
parts. I must say that his work is outstanding and I would highly recommend him to anyone in need of help with a harp mic.
I was there thirty or so years ago when Big Walter was using this mic and thanks to Chuck, this little piece of blues history
will live on ! "

"Fat Bottom Mics are just that! The harp mic that you were always looking
for with that big fat bottom end. My mic sounds great all through the whole
register. Custom built by Chuck Gurney, the craftsmanship is pro all the way.  The
customer service is A+ and Chuck's custom mic compliments my Sonny Jr. Amp perfectly.  If you are looking for that extra
edge in tone, I highly recommend Fat Bottom Mics as your first choice."

"Chuck Gurney is the only guy I know of who can repair and/or boost a CR or CM element to maximize it's tone and output,
something every harp player needs.  I have been using Chuck's services for the past few years, and he has never let me
down. Every CR or CM I have sent to him has come back with killer sound, no matter what shape it was in when I sent it to
him.  This includes a totally dead black label CR and numerous low-z CMs which needed upgraded to hi-z specs.  His
workmanship is flawless, and his prices are very reasonable for the time and care he puts in to make your element perform
the way it should.  Several of my own customers have remarked on the excellent sound of mics I have sold them with
Chuck's elements on board.  For any CR/CM problem, I recommend his work, with no reservations."
