===============================================================================

Sir Charles;  Had a chance to blow a bit through my new Fatbottom-mic. First, let me say what an absolute
pleasure it was doing business with you! You're a wealth of knowledge and information AND I feel I've
made a friend.  The fit, finish, paint, and attention to detail are a true testament to your passion. Forget
the bottom, you said "the mids cut nicely too"--HELLO--I got that brassy horn tone I've been searching
for, baby!! Honestly, Chuck, the improvement in tonal quality was so pronounced--it's like going from a
toy, to a musical instrument. For the fatbottom?? A #1 draw bend vibrates the shell in my hand!! In the
lower keys, it's like a finely tuned vintage pipe organ. Chuck, everyone in the band was very  impressed--
(two guitar players want to know if you hand wind pickups). You done me good--excellently done my
friend. My new fatbottom mic represents THE best VALUE of anything harp related I've bought in forty
years, including my other four mics, which are now paperweights & doorstops!!  Best wishes
to you and all of yours,
Rick, USA

G'day Chuck'
The black satin tone monster has arrived........it's beautiful ! Just finished playing with it......awesome !
It's got more bottom end than a Weight Watchers convention. Cuts the mids and man , what great tone.
I'm sure I heard my SJ410 breathe a sigh of relief when I plugged it in
Thank you so much for your expertise and craftsmanship, everything about this mic is wonderful.
Not only is it great sounding and so well made, it is also a piece of art.
I can't wait to get this mic really breathing at my next gig.
Thanks Man

Hi Chuck!!
I received your package with the mic, the silks and the cable!! Fast shipping!
The mic is fantastic! It's beautiful and sounds terrific! I tested the mic with my Tweed Deluxe amp and
the sound is awesome! It really has a great "fat bottom" sound. I've got a JT-30 with a CM element that I
love, but your mic is even better!
Well, thank you very much for your great job, your kind treatment, your help, your advice,... It has been a
pleasure "doing business" with you!! And thank you for the extra silks, the fantastic tweed cable... and
the great bag for the mic, a pleasant surprise! It's very nice! I think in the future I would like to have
another Fatbottom-mic!
Best wishes from your friend in Barcelona.

Chuck,
Like all the other posters here before me, I have nothing but praise for your mic work.  It looks
magnificant.  The shaved fin still leaves my Turner with that art deco look I love but now it fits
comfortably in my hands. I just played it at band practice.  The other guys were really impressed how cool
it looks,  but mostly at how full and powerful it sounds.  I expected the great bottom, but was really
surprised how strong and clear the mids are.  This is without doubt the best sounding mic I've played in
my 40 years of playing.
Finally, you were a pleasure to work with, promptly and patiently answering my questions as I was
deciding what modifications I wanted.
Thanks for everything Chuck.

Chuck has worked on a number of my mics over the last years doing a variety of mods and tweaks
including installing volume pods, cosmetic surgery, replacing switchcraft screw-on's, fit rubber gaskets,
installed Black CR's and CM's, hotted up a Lo-Z element and painted a number of my shells different
colors.  2 of them are featured on the website: a red/gold two tone AIWA  and a purple bullet with a Black
CR.  These mics all just cook and work real fine.  Chuck is a meticulous technical craftsman, and a fair
and honest business man. Highly recommended as he has done 8 of my axes.

Chuck,

The mic is absolutely stunning. I am so appreciative of you for taking the extra time with me, listening,
advising, and also showing me that you truly are a “diamond in the rough”. I will spend the rest of my
days singing your praise for what you have done. Chuck, I hope to meet you one day to shake your hand
and tell you “Thank you” face to face. I am very proud to own two Chuck Gurney mic’s. Wish you could
autograph both. Once again. You’re the man Chuck!
Sincerely,

Gary, USA

Hi Chuck

I got home and tried out the Mike. Its great!! really heavy tone and
cosmetically beautiful (the red mesh is very nice)!! The VC works nice and smooth
and holds volume at low increments!! Great! I have some good older Controlled
Reluctance elements that work very nicely and have good tone....but I always
wondered about these elements that you offered and there is a noticeable
difference in tone and presence!! and "thats at low volume" so I am sure at a
respectable volume the difference magnifies itself like the Richter scale for
earthquakes!
Thanks a lot Chuck. The vintage style cord is excellent also!

You know....what you say about throwing your money away on these other unknown
elements is true!! Might as well save it up and get something you know will be
checked out fully...and that has a pedigree and support!!! You are great!!

Chuck,

I got the harp mic and cables in today. I only have time to say YES, YES, YES. Just five minutes on this
baby told me what I needed to know. Chuck, you don’t know how much I appreciate you and your many
years of expertise. There is no comparison between this Green Bullet and my other Turner and White
CR. You have a standing order from me for another precious one. I would like to wait until you find a
special Black Label CR for me. Be thinking about what to put it in. I would like to trust your instinct on
the next one. I would like to get a mic that is built like it’s for you.

Sincerely,
Gary, USA

Hey Chuck,
I received my Green Bullet mic from you today. I plugged the thing in, and busted out my Hohner Blues
MS harp in b-flat.  After adjusting a few settings, I was able to get the mic turned all the way up. I played
a short little riff, and the tone was absolutely amazing.  A sweet crunch, and a slight, natural hint of
reverb.  It was responsive to my playing as well, and gave me that down and dirty tone when tightly
cupped.  My wife even commented that I sounded like some of the blues stuff I have been listening to!
I cannot thank you enough for hooking me up with your custom work. I am glad I was able to get my mic
done right the first time.  I would recommend your work without hesitation.
So thank you, thank you, thank you!
I will record a sample soon, and send it to ya.

Take care Chuck,

Chuck,

I used the BB yesterday on an outdoor gig through my Sonny Jr. SJ-1 and it kicked ass.  Thanks so much
for your dedication in getting it up to par.  I'll be using it through my Custom Kraft 880 next time and I'm
sure it will be just as awesome.
I have one more oddball CM for you which I'll get out to you next week.  Don't know much about it but if
it's low-z or medium -z and you can do a transformer upgrade let's go for that.  If not, I'll go with your
recommendation. Talk again soon.
Best regards,

Pete, USA

Hi Chuck

This looks like a work of art, you have captured everything I wanted and
more.  Like a new born babe. Sound is amazing!
I have some good info to work from now coming from you about mics.  Thanks for this.
Now I have to get busy and learn a few more tunes and practice my speed and licks.....

Cheers chuck,

Hello Chuck,

I just realized, that I forgot to thank you for a great rebuild on the Biscuit mic.
WOW! Every thing you have done is top shelf. I will pass the word to my harmonica
brothers about what you have done.

P.S. I noticed that my good friend Kevin picked up the vintage cable you had on E-Bay. If you are making
any more, I would be interested in buying the 5/8 screw-on to 1/4 and the 1/4 to 1/4 versions.

Hi Chuck,
I received the mic and it both looks and sounds just great.  I thank you for your fast work and attention to
detail (replacing the rather shoddy screws holding the grill on the mic was indeed noticed and
appreciated!).
Thanks for getting my backup mic up to center stage quality!
All the best,
Wayne, USA
